Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22nd April. It is celebrated to raise awareness among people to save Mother Earth from the harassment it is facing day by day. It was first established in United States by Senator Gaylord Nelson on 22nd April, 1970. Many volunteers go to a near by land or park and plant trees while others decide to clean the paths, roads and drains. Various people hold their hands and march to create awareness to save Mother Earth. Many schools and colleges have cultural programs where we get to know the importance of this day. Hence, we should praise the efforts taken on the World Earth Day and every other day we live.

Even, turning off the lights for one hour can be a major effect on this day.
